Every house owner who owns a pet can inform you that their pets took over their lives and house. While this sounds adorable and it is to some extent, it’s not all rainbows and roses. Pets are pretty much members of your family. Your house is their house too. So if they don’t have things that they can play with then they will play with the things you own. This means it’s time to say a tearful goodbye to the sneakers you love, the sofa you bought and every fabric in the house. If you think this is a bit over dramatic, you are right… but only a little bit.
Cats are notorious for climbing curtains and every available fabric. Thus puncturing holes and pulling out threads. They also scratch any harsh surface to remove the outer layer of their nail or even as a way to mark their territory. Dogs on the other hand don’t have a vendetta against fabric as much as they have one for shoes. Any shoe that bends is a good substitute for a chew toy. Fishes well they don’t care about anything much at all.
To ensure that your pets do not destroy the things you own and would enjoy staying in your house more it is important that you decorate your house with a few nods to them. Doing this does not mean you have to lose points in the interior decoration department, there are ways you can incorporate things your pet would love in a stylish manner that suits the vibe of your house.
There are many stylish beds for your pets these days and they come in a variety of materials, colours and patterns. If your house has a neutral theme going on then you can purchase a neutral coloured bed that looks aesthetically pleasing. If you wish, you could even buy one in a contrasting or a bolder colour to make it pop and be a statement piece. If you have a room or space that you do not use you can convert it into a dedicated space for your pet. If you own kittens then it is necessary that you get them kittens playpen to ensure they can play but be safe at the same time. As this would take up a bit of space you can install it in an area you do not use and dedicate that area to your feline friends.
So you can have the cat bed, scratching posts and toys all in the same area. If they have a dedicated play area then they are less likely to play with the things you own. If you wish to make it look good, then you can stick to a common colour scheme and even include a few wall paintings and such to give the place a cozy atmosphere. You can do the same with any other pets you own. If you own fishes you can purchase Aquarium accessories online or at a store in a colour that matches your walls or your deco, so that the aquarium would blend into your interior decoration instead of sticking out too much.
